Cost Controller in ESP-MRD-Madrid, Spain

-Technically qualified with some experience in the implementation of project controls best practices to support the project management team to execute projects on time, on budget, and to specification.

-Utilize Worley (and/ Client) WBS & coding structures, comprehensive scheduling systems & tools capable of providing milestone, summary level, and detailed work schedules for EPC projects

-Utilize Worley (and/ Client) WBS & associated CoA to produce reports, track & forecast EPC costs and overall work performance

-Interfacing with the PM and/or departments to perform job efficiently

Major accountabilities:

-Interface with PM stakeholders to develop, monitor, update and control project schedules, costs & quantities for minor projects.

-Interface with PM stakeholders to prepare analysis and report on timely and accurate forecast of project cost & schedule.

-Interface with stakeholders for implementation of MoPC procedure.

-Prepare & update of the project controls sections of the PEP, including WBS, progress measurement and reporting, time & manhours cost management.

-Interface with the PM and Finance to prepare monthly internal reports (PCS, FCS, MPRD) and external project reports (MPR).

-Project Close out and benchmarking.


Job Specific Knowledge:

-Is familiar with, and is fully capable of application of skills and methods in cost engineering, estimating and planning engineering as contained in AACE and PMI (PMBok) standard practices. Sound understanding of project delivery phases, activities performed in each phase, and deliverables at the end of each phase.

-Have experience working on minor EPCM projects in working on projects within the Oil and Gas, Power and industrial sectors

-Understands the interrelationship of a good technical project scope definition, quality of the schedule and estimate, construction sequence and execution, procurement and contracting strategies, commissioning and start up

-Working experience with scheduling and cost control softwares; able to put activities in schedules, assign resources, identify critical paths, and do analysis on how long it will take to accomplish the project

-Capable of developing and maintaining control budget (TIC & Services) for minor projects, forecast EPC scopes of work and managing impact of change & trends, using CPI / SPI / MPI

-Understanding of financial interface for expenditures, revenue recognition, invoicing, cash flow / cash calls

-Possess some experience in progress measurements and progress reporting for engineering, procurement and construction

-Working knowledge of Earned Value Measurement in engineering, procurement & construction

-Full understanding of cross-functional interfaces with engineering, procurement - materials & sub-contracts, construction, safety, quality, finance/accounting, and document control

-Ability to work well as an integral part of a large project team that includes the customer, engineering disciplines, construction management team, and 3rd party suppliers

-Capable of developing and delivering a professional presentation in slide show, report and verbal format for an audience of 5 persons

-Effective analytical and problem-solving skills

-Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, individuals both inside and outside the project team

-Strong work ethic, produces accurate and credible deliverables, meet deadlines

Industry specific Experience:

3 plus (3 ) years of progressive experience project planning and scheduling, TIC & services cost management, earned value, cash flows, invoice, and performance measurement.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

-BA/BS degree in related field or applicable discipline preferred.

-Willing to undergo rigorous in-house Worley PCDP and quality training 

HSE Capability:

Adherence to HSE Policy and Procedures.

IT Skills:

-MSOffice, Primavera P6. P6 Web and Primavera Risk Analysis an asset.

People Skills:

-Good interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills.

-Good communication skills and an aptitude for taking initiatives are essential, as is the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.

-Pro-active, practical hands-on approach and results-driven.
